Diaz baseball career began at an early age when he was in his high school where he played for
the school scout from Major League Baseball team. In 2012 he was selected by the Seattle Mariners
when it was at the third round of the 2012 MLB draft. His professional baseball career began as he
played several minor leagues in several teams.
In 2016 while playing for the Mariners. In 2018 season he made a record of 57 saves and was named All-star of the year and ended the season in 73.1 innings pitched with a record of a 1.96 earned run average (ERA) and 124 strikeouts. At the end of 2018 season he joined New York Mets and during the 2019 season he recorded 26 saves and finished the season with a 5-4 record, a 1.65 ERA, and 99 strikeouts in 58.0 innings pitched and was again named
All-Star for the Season in 2020. In the shortened season of 2020 he recorded a 1.75 ERA in 26 appearances.
In the 2021 season he recorded 37 saves with a 2.27 ERA and 95 strikeouts in 67.1 innings pitched. Besides baseball he does chartable work as he worked with Make-A-Wish foundation.
