Reaves career began when he was still in high school where he played back-to-back class 2A state tittles. While in high school he received compliments where he scored 73 points against Forrest City High School. In four games he recorded 43.3 points which earned him his first title as the MVP of the state tournament.

After his high school he went for college basketball where he played for Wichita State, after his sophomore season, Austin moved to Oklahoma but didn’t manage to take part in the tournament due to the NCAA transfer rules. During the 2021 NBA draft he managed to sign his first contract which was, a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. IN August the same year he made his first NBA debut where he scored 8 points which was off bench match loss of 115-105 to the Phoenix Suns.

To date he is still player to Los Angeles Lakers and plays shooting guard.
