Larry Asego was born on 24th July 1980, he is 43 years old. His birthplace was Kicholia Hospital which is located in somewhere near Busia County and later on grew up in Kibera, Nairobi County. This was after the relocation of his father to Nairobi.
His father was a trucker and used to travel quite a bit in the region whereas his mother was working for the Kenya Prison Department in Busia County.

During his early ages, Asego was a cheeky and mischievous boy. He mentioned of a scenario that happened back in school where he placed a packet of milk on his teacher’s seat and surprisingly, the teacher sat on it without checking and no one reported him as the culprit.

Asego was born in a family of one father with two mothers and ten siblings. However, his known siblings are Lavin Asego and Chris Asego. His family loved sports and thus impacting the same spirit in him.

Asego attended Olympic Primary School which is in Kibera and managed to complete his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) from there in the year 1994. Mischievously, Larry Asego’s mother got a job at the same primary institution as a teacher.
Asego explained in an interview that she was a great disciplinarian back at school but a lovely mother at home. He then got a chance to join Highway Secondary School for his high school level education. He was a sports lover back at high school and thus participated in his favorites which were football, hockey and rugby and was also made sports captain.
After high school, LAsego went to study French at the Alliance Franchise and then proceeded on to the University of Nairobi for a bachelor’s degree in French and Linguistics.

After high school, Asego had a stint at Alliance Francaise where he met people such as Churchill and Jalang’o and started acting with them. In the year 2008, he got a chance to work at the radio station Kiss 100 as a presenter after having passed the interview. Across his many years as a radio presenter, Asego has worked alongside other experienced presenters such as Kalekye Mumo, Caroline Mutuku and Maina Kageni who have helped him grow.
He as well made his appearance in the television screen with a script that entertained Kenyans for two hours, the Hot Seat. The screen gave him an opportunity to host one of his favorite shows which is the Guinness Football Challenge alongside Flavia Tumusiime and was thus able to meet some great footballers such as Rigobert Song, Lakisha Bwalya and Marcel Desailly.
For his love for sports, Asego has been inspired to do something that would bring Kenyans together. He therefore started a sports charity in the year 2009 known as We Got Balls where he has managed to source balls and hand them over to young teams.
Years to come, Asego aspires to start up his own production company since he highly believes that much can be done given the immense and impressive talents in Kenya.
