NBA draft
During the 2011 NBA draft, Chicago Bulls selected him as the 30th overall pick. In December same year Jimmy signed his rookie contract with the Chicago Bulls. Unfortunately, the season was facing an NBA lockout which was the most recent and the fourth one which lasted for 161 days. The season resumed on November 1st.
In his debut season Jimmy appeared in 42 games and recorded 2.6 points each game with the Bulls. When the Bulls made it to playoffs, Jimmy managed to play three matches and unfortunately recorded no point. During the NBA Summer league Jimmy joined the Bulls Roster team. He made four appearances and gathered in average 2.0 assists, 6.5 rebound and 20.8 points.
Contract
When his contract expired it was extended through the 2013-2014 season, he didn’t play many games until his teammate named Luol Deng ghad an injury. By the end of the season Jimmy recorded 8.6 leverage points in 82 matches that he played. With his team at the season playoffs Jimmy made 12 appearances in playoff games and recorded an average of 13.3 points per game.
In 2013 October 30th his contract was again extending for one year. He helped the Bulls to establish another Bulls record after he managed to be active on the court for 6 minutes. Jimmy was moved to the NBA All-Defensive second team in June 2014. During the 2014-2015 season with the Bulls Jimmy took the center stage in their game.

In a match against the New York Knicks Jimmy recorded 35 points and also scored 32 points against the Denver Knicks and registered a career playoffs career high on April 20th where in a game win bay the bulls with 91-82 points Jimmy himself gathered 31 points alone in a match against the Milwaukee Bucks. This was followed another good record in a match against the Bucks on 25t the same month where he gathered again 33 points but unfortunately the Bulls lost in the Semifinals in a match against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The following year Jimmy was named the first Bulk player to have won the NBA most improved player Award.
In 2015 July, Jimmy was offered a Fiver contract worth $95 million which he signed on 9th which also granted him a fifth-year player option. In 2016 Jimmy sustained strain in his left knee when playing the Denver Nuggets and cost him to miss the NBA All- star Gam of that year. He went back in March and appeared first in, a game against the Toronto Raptors. During their last game for the season with the Bulls he did well which led the Bulls to their open season game against the Boston Celtics in 2016 October.
In November he recorded his high team point of 24 points in November followed by a Season high if 40 points which was in a match against the Los Angeles Lakers. By the end of the season Jimmy had appeared in 76 games and recorded 23.9 average points in each game. In the playoffs he played six matches and recorded 22.7 average points in each game.

During the 2017-2018 season in the begining, Jimmy was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on June 22nd 2017. He appeared in 59 matches and gathered an average of 22 points each game followed by an average if 15.8 points per game in five playoff games he played.
