In 2009 during the Haringey box cup, he won the fight and maintained the record the following year. That very year he won the ABA championship. In 2010 his shot on GB boxing team was a success and won the GB championship in a fight against Amin Issa. The following year 2011 he won the fight against Eric Berechlin and Cathal McMonagale but lost to Mihai Nistor.
In 2013 in platform of Matchroom sports promo banner Joshua won the fight against Emanuele Leo. In October 2014 he made his 9th emergence for the deserted WBC International Heavyweight title he also faced Denis Bakhtov. At the age of 24 Joshua emerged conqueror of the bout by knockout in Round 2 and capped the WBC International Heavyweight title.
In 2016 Joshua was to face the IBF heavyweight Champion Charles Martin a fight he won in January same year and managed to defend his IBF title. Due to the win Joshua was scheduled to face Dominic Breazeale. Joshua managed to knock down Dominic Breazeale in a knockout in round 7 in the fight and this win helped defend his title successfully as he sent Breazeale down in a knockout in Round 7.
In the second round of the title, it was scheduled that Joshua was to meet Eric Molina, he managed to beat Molina in the round three.
He holds the IBF title ever since 2016, the WBA (Super) title since in 2017, the WBO since in 2018, the 1BO title 2017, British and Commonwealth title at the regional level from 2014 to 2016.
