Biography of Wahome Wa Matinga
Wahome Wa Matinga is a Kenyan politician who is serving as Nyeri County third Senator following the August 2022 general elections on a United Democratic Alliance party ticket. He is the former Mathira Constituency CDF manager, he is also currently serving the Senate as the chair of energy and Water Committees.
Wahome Wa Matinga early life
Wa Matinga was born in Mathira Constituency in Nyeri County where he also grew up together with his siblings. They were brought up by their grandmother as their parents were working in Nairobi for a white family.

He did his A levels in 1985 and later in 1986 he joined Railways school. 1995 he managed to fly to Germany for his tertiary education where he joined Essen University and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering. In 2018 he joined St Paul’s university where he did B.A in Leadership Management and completed the studies in 2021.
Wahome Wa Matinga Career background
After he graduated Wa Matinga worked at IBM Groupware Company where he worked for four years. He resigned and got back to the country. Upon his return he helped the late Mathira constituency member of parliament Nderitu Gachagua.
He was among the Mount Kenya politicians who were refered to as being behind the scene who took part in the formation of the TNA party, GNU party and the current United Democratic Alliance UDA party.
During the 2013 general elections Wa Matinga again campaigned for the late Nderitu Gachagua on his bid to win the Nyeri County Gubernatorial Seat which was on a GNU party ticket. Nderitu won the elections but died at his first term battling with cancer.
During the 2017 general elections Wa Matinga campaigned for Rigathi Gachagua towards the Mathira Member of Parliament which he won. Wa Matinga was then elected as the CDF manager for Mathira Constituency.
During the August 2022 general elections Wa Matinga vied for the Senatorial seat of Nyeri County a position he won on a UDA party ticket. In the Senate he is the Chair of energy and Water Committees.
While serving as the CDF Manager for Mathira Constituency under the MP by then Rigathi Gachagua he faced allegations on the 7.4 billion scandals together with his boss.
