Tori Bowie was born on 27th August 1990 in Sand hill located in Rankin County in Mississippi.

Her parents are Deniss Smith and Bibbie Denis Smith. She also has sister called Tamara Bowie.

Bowie attended Prestigious Pisgah High School and after her secondary school education she got a scholarship to do Interdisciplinary studies at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Tori Bowie Career

Bowie began her career when she was still in high school where she represented the school in track events and also she took part in the Women Basketball in the state team.After high school due to her talent in athletics Bowie got a scholarship to join Southern Mississippi University to study Interdisciplinary. During the NCAA Division I events she was among the participants who competed for the Miss Golden Eagles and Lady Eagles.

In her freshman year she had an exemplary performance in Long jump whereby during the Conference USA Outdoor and Conference USA Indoors and was ranked position three and two consecutively which was followed by 4 by 100 meters relay of three state wins.  She then qualified to participate in the NCAA Womens Outdoor Track and field Championships but leaped in the qualifying.

During the2019 National lUSA Outdoor and Track and Field Championship Bowie was ranked at the top ten. That same year Tori during the Global Championships which were held in Doha and was ranked at position four. Even though she didn’t make a team for the US Olympic for the games which were held in Tokyo she took part in the final competitions which were taking place in 2022.

In Olympic games Bowie gathered:

  • In 2016 she won a Gold medal from Rio De Janeiro in 4by 100 m relay
  • In 2016 she won a Bronze medal from Rio for Janeiro in 200m race
  • In 2016 she won a Bronze medal from Rio De Janeiro in 100 m race
  • In world championship she won the following medals
  • In 2015 she won a Bronze medal from Beijing in 100 m race
  • In 2017 she won a Gold Medal from London in 4by 100 m race
  • In 2017 she won a Gold medal from London in 100m race.

Tori Bowie cause of death

On 2nd May 2023, Tori was found dead in her house in Orange County, Florida by authorities. At the time of her death, she was pregnant. She died due to childbirth related complications. Among the suspected complications are eclampsia, respiratory distress and high blood pressure. Apparently, her baby was born prematurely and dead.

Additionally, authorities estimated her death occurred on 23rd April 2023. She died at the age of 32 years.
