John Methu Biography
John Methu is the current Nyandarua County senator following the August 2022 general elections, he was elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party. He contested for the same post during the 2017 elections on Maendeleo Chap Chap Party ticket but lost.

He grew up in Nyandarua County in the hands of his grandmother who was like a mother to him. From his age he appears to be the youngest senators. His parents separated few months after his birth and only saw his dad once who died in 2011.

John Methu Education Background
Methu attended Heni Primary School from 1999 to 2006 and did his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). In 2008 he joined Goshen High School where he did his secondary education and sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2012
Upon completion of his secondary education Methu joined Pwani University to pursue Political Science. A hard working and committed young man full of dreams bought a pool table with HELB money to support himself financially while in the University.

John Methu Career background
Upon completion of his studies, Methu joined politics where he vied for the Senatorial seat of Nyandarua County on the Maendeleo Chachap party ticket but he did not win. The following year he found a way to interact with politicians where he worked as the personals secretary for the Nyandarua County assembly speaker.
Methu resigned from his position in 2022 to continue with his very dream of becoming the Senator of Nayndarua County. During the 2022 general elections he won the senatorial seat of Nyandarua County on the United Democratic Alliance party ticket. In the senate he is serving as the committee chairperson of lands, environment and natural resources.
