Sen. Lelegwe Steve Ltumbesi is the current senator of Samburu County on a United Democratic Alliance party ticket following the 2022 general elections. He is serving the position for the second term.

During the 2017 general elections Lelegwe vied for a Senatorial seat of Samburu Coutny where he was elected. He also made a comeback in 2022 general elections on a United Democratic Alliance party, and he was re-elected. He is now serving as Samburu for a second term.
