Samidoh Biography

Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu aka Samidoh is a well-known and celebrated Kikuyu artist. He released his first single Ndiri Mutwe Mwega in 2016. Since then, he has been doing well in music journey releasing several other songs. From the time he became famous the songs have been topping in Kikuyu music chart.

The kikuyu musician was born in 1990 in the town of Subukia in Nakuru county as the third born in their family.

Education background

Samidoh attended Oljororok Primary School for his primary education upto class 7. Due to difficult situations at home, he was forced to drop out of school in class 7 for herding animals to complement what the mother was doing. Samidoh later went to Kieni Primary School for complition of his primary education.

Samidoh then joined Kieni Secondary School in 2004 after which he was transferred to join Oljororok Secondary School the same year. He was then admitted at Kenya Polytechnic University to take a diploma course in Business Information Technology in 2011. He then joined the Administration Police Service.

Career Journey

Samuel’s passion in music began at a tender age when he used to lead choir and also a leader of worship team for Christian Union. He travelled to Nairobi after he was through with education and joined Kamande Wa Kioi’s band serving as a backup vocalist in the band. The elder brother was a drummer in the same band.

After a period of two years in the band, he saw it wise to grow out of the band as a solo artist. In 2016 Samidoh recorded his first song Ndiri Mutwe Mwega meaning My Head isn’t Straight. This song has very high number of viewers in Youtube of about 1.6 million views.

Different from other artists, Samidoh decided to play his music as a one man-guitar played by him and backed up by a vocalist and a drummer.

Samidoh is also an administration police officer after passing through the training and having the papers making to qualify for the job. This was in October 2013.

Samidoh’s Family

He is the third born in the family of six boys being raised in a humble background. The father passed when Samidoh was three years by then. The father’s brother later kicked them from their home based in Subukia, the reason as to why they relocated to Oljororok in Nyandarua County.

The mother fed and educated them with what she got from their farm. The mother also passed when they were still at a tender age.

Samidoh’s Wife and Children

Samidoh met with Edith back in Secondary School in Oljororok in form three and Samidoh was in form four by then. Together they have two children a daughter by the name Shirleen and son, Michael.
