Her parents were Hassan Halilov Ibrahimoff who was a Muslim and Dorothea nee Tzigkou who was an Ibranian Greek. However, they later converted to Orthodox Christianity and changed their names Allan Wison his father. She has two siblings namely Lily her sister and Chris her brother.

That same year she appeared in If These Walls Could Talk playing the role of Leslie and also in Invisible Child as Annie Beeman. Two years later she was seen in her major in that decade named From the Earth to the Moon in 1998.
She also featured in Psycho as Carolone the same year. In 1999 she appear in Runaway Bride as Ellie Graham followed by Story of Us. Two years later she appeared in a movie called Perfume aftershock she decide to quit acting and do production.

After seeing the Nia Verdalos One woman show she loved it and decided to co-produce the film version of it and followed by my Big Fat Wedding. It was successful.
She then served as an executive producer in the production of My Big Fat Greek Life which is a television series. In 2004 she was out with her own film named Cinnie and Carla.
She was again in acting in 2006 when she made an appearance in Chicago revived as Toxie Hart. Her first film as a director was called The Trap. Among her best films are in 2009 It’s Complicated, 2012 Larry Crowne. That same year she appeared in six episodes of The Good Wide with the role of Viola Walsh which was present up to 2014.
