Rio Ferdinand Career

Rio’s career began in 1995 when he joined West Ham United in it’s youth team. Years later he graduated in 1996 to the first team where he made his debut at the age of 17 and he emerged the best young defender in the league. This attracted the top clubs and in 2000 he managed to sign with one of the most dominant team’s in England named Leeds united. He assisted Leeds to the UEFA Champions league semi-finals. In the League he got the spot in the PFA team of the year, where he was also awarded the Leeds player of the year.

Rio then joined Manchester United where he spent the best of his career years. In 2002 with the Red devils he became the most expensive defender back. Assisted ManU do winning the premier league title. In 2003 he won the runner-up medals and also the 2005 FA Cup. Three years later in a match against Wigan Athletic in 2005 he scored his first goal for the team and the second goal followed in a match against Liverpool
