Richard Onyonka is a Kenyan politician and the former Member of Parliament of Kitutu Chache Constituency. He is the current Senator of Kisii County following the 2022 general election.

Onyoka attended Otamba primary and St Mary’s Mosocho where he did his primary studies. He then joined St Mary’s Yala where he did his A level and did his Olevel at Kisii high school. He attained admission at the University of Nairobi where he graduated with degree in Commerce in 1985.
Richard Onyonka’s Career
Richard career began with him working as the Member of Parliament for Kitutu Chache Constituency where his first political party was Peoples Democratic Party which he left in 2013 and joined Orange Democratic Movement ODM but later joined Ford Kenya in 2017.
During the 2017 general elections he vied for the Kisii County gubernatorial seat but lost the elections, he made a comeback during the 2022 general education where he vied for the Kisii senatorial seat and was elected. Onyonka was among the students who were arrested following the 1982 coup which was for the attempt and medication but they were later released by high court on ‘nolle Prosequi.
