Mutula Kilonzo Junior is the current Governor of Makueni County. He is the Vice Chair Wiper Democratic Movement, Kenya. He was the second senator of Makueni before winning the governor seat.

Hon. governor was born on 1975 in Mbooni located in Makueni County. He is the son to the late Mutula Kilonzo Senior and a brother to Kethi Kilonzo and Wanza Kilonzo. The governor was born by the Kilonzo senior first wife.
Since his father had a second wife (Nduku Kilonzo), the governor is a stepbrother to Mutune, Muathi Kilonzo, Michael Musembi, and Musau.
Mutula is also a nephew to Mumo Mutula.

The goc=vernor started his primary education at Jamuhuri Primary School. Kilonzo Junior went to Nairobi Milimani Secondary School for his secondary education. He then went to Dr. Ambedkar College for his Bachelors and graduated with a degree in law.
Career Journey of Kilonzo Junior
Hon. Mutula joined politics back in July 2013. This Was after the father died while still serving as the Senator of Makueni County. He took after the sister who was the one to succeed the father but since she was not a registered voter, IEBC barred her from being the Wiper party flag bearer hence Mutula Junior came to the picture. He won the by-election that was held and took over as the Senator of Makueni County. Kilonzo Junior retained the seat in 2017 before contesting for the governor race in 2022 which he still emerged victor.
Before joining politics Kilonzo Junior worked at Kilonzo & Co Advocate as a senior partner, partner and pupil.
