
Motley Crue is a band described as hard rock in Los Angeles in California. The band was formed in 1981. The band was formed by bass guitarist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee. They were later joined by Mick Mars who joined them later together with Singer Vince Nell.
The Crue has managed to make sales of over 80 million albums throughout the world worth $25 million.

Members of Motley Crue
It all started with bass guitarist Nikki Sixx started rehearsing with drummer Tommy Lee and vocalist/guitarist Greg Leon. However, the dancing stopped. Nikki and Tommy started looking for other members and that’s when they met guitarist Bob “Mick Mars” Deal with a lead vocalist name O’Dean and he was hired and auditioned. Then was Vince Neil whom Lee knew back from high school. They also performed in various bands together and Lee spotted him performing the Rock Candy band at the Starwood in Hollywood Mars suggested they should involve him in the band an offer that Neil refused. Neil turned down but accepted later when Rock Candy had started involving in outside projects and he was hired.

Motley Crue Background
The name of the band came from Mars. He recalled an incident when he was performing at the White horse band, another band member refired to the group as the “a motley looking crew.” He wrote down and modified the spelling and a little and , “Mötley Crüe” was eventually the name of the band adding two sets of metal umlauts which came from German beer Löwenbräu which they were drinking by then.

Motley Crue music journey
Their first manager was Allan Coffman. The band first released a single named “Stick to Your Guns/Toast of theTown” released on their own record label named Leathür Records.
In November 1981, they released their debut album named Too Fast for Love which they produced and released themselves on Leathür. It was a debut of success as they managed to sell 20000 copies. The band’s success was used by Eric Greif. He set a tour of Canada and used it in Los Angeles club scene to bargain with several record labels. Finally in 1982 they signed a recording contract with Elektra Records in late spring. The debut album was remixed by producer Roy Thomas Baker and re-released in August 20th same year.
They released their ninth studio album named Saints of Los Angeles on June 24th 2008. It was followed by a film adaptation The Dirt in 2011 which had the best sale of their released.
The success of the band has been tampered by the careless lifestyle of the band members. They have had numerous fights with the law spending most time in jail as due to drug abuse, countless escape with women and alcoholism.
