McDonald Mariga Wanyama is a retired Kenyan professional footballer who played as a midfielder. On 16 March 2010, Mariga made history as the first Kenyan footballer to play in the UEFA Champions League, or Internazionale.
Mariga was born on April 4, 1987, in Nairobi, Kenya. He grew up in a family of footballers,
with his elder brother, Thomas Wanyama, and younger brother, Victor Wanyama, also becoming
professional footballers. Mariga’s father, Noah Wanyama, was also a footballer who played for the
Kenyan national team.

He then moved to Europe in 2006 to play for Helsingborgs IF in Sweden before moving to Italy to join US Citta diPalermo in 2008.
