Biography

Ledama ole kina is an active liberal Kenyan politician from Oloombokishi, Narok known by many for his particular choice of hairstyle. He was born on November 11, 1974, to Siminta Enole Torome and Meiteganyu Ole Nchoshoi. The 47-year-old is currently the senator to Narok.

Ledama Ole Kina education background

Ole Kina started his education journey in Narok where he attended Olesankale primary and would later join Narok Highschool.

Ledama was lucky enough to study at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, where he graduated with a joint Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Communications.

He also attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Career

Upon completion of his Degree, Ole Kina returned to the country and joined active politics during the 2017 general elections where he vied for the senatorial seat for Narok County under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He won by the majority votes and was declared Senator.

In 2002, he founded the Massai Education Discovery (MED), a non-profit organization eyeing to archive a bicultural approach to education. MED provides scholarships to girls for various levels of education from primary school to university.

With his knowledge of political mastery from his bachelor’s degree, Ole Kina writes articles through a weekly column in the Star weekend edition paper.

He is also a manager at Sidai Media Group.

The senator hardly gives details of his family but has revealed the faces of his beautiful wife, Susan Lekanaiya, and three children, a son and two daughters.

Ole Kina’s first child is 18-year-old daughter CT followed by 14-year-old sister Nemashon Setian. His third child is his son Maison Messi who is nine.

While there is no official report showing the senator’s net worth, it is estimated at $5 million.

With his salary and allowances as a senator averaging Ksh. 510,000 per month and ksh.220,000 per month respectively it is safe to assume that the senator is well of.

Ole Kina Controversies

In 2016 the senator sparked controversy when he was cautioned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), after accusations of inciting the Maasai community against the Kipsigis.

He has also been accused by various politicians of arousing animosity between communities as he alleged that most jobs were particularly being given to one community.
