She attended St Christopher’s School and then later transferred to Green Herald in Bangladesh. She then went to Karen C School and then after transferred to Loreto Convent Musongari and did her final exams in secondary at Imani School.

After secondary education she got admitted in USIU but before she was done with her Undergraduate studies she moved to the UK. She joined Cardiff School of Law at the University of Wales where she graduated with LLB Law and also did MBA at Cardiff School of Business still in Wales University.

Julie started his career in media with KTN where she was a reporter and then after some time she moved to a radio Station, Capital FM she then joined NTV and the Royal Media recruited her to work at Citizen Tv but she decided to quit in 2017 and went to work with KBC where she was hosting the called African Leadership Dialogues.

She is the pioneer of a number of shows and programs in all round issues amongst them are peace and politics and this was after the 2007 post-election violence. She also pioneered a program on governance.

Other than working on the Tv screen she is a businesswoman and she has ventured in online retail fashion outlet named Mimi and Production Company Arimus Media Limited. The company aims at growing the local productions in shows like the Great Debates Contest, Leadership Dialogues, Maisha and Glam show. She also owns a foundation by the name Julie Gichuru Mastercard Foundation that was appointed as the Head of Public Affairs and Communication in 2019.
