Jonathan Owens is a professional football player in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on July 22, 1995, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Owens attended Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, where he played football and was a three-year starter at safety. After high school, Owens went on to play college football at Missouri Western State University.
J. Owens Career
He played for the Missouri Western Griffons from 2013 to 2016 and was a four-year starter at safety. During his time at Missouri Western, Owens was named to the All-MIAA team twice and was a Division II All-American in 2016.
Owens went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft but was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Arizona Cardinals. He spent time on the Cardinals practice squad in 2017 before being released. Owens then signed with the Houston Texans’ practice squad in December 2017 and was signed to a futures contract in January 2018.
He was waived by the Texans in September 2018 and spent time on the practice squads of the Miami Dolphins and the Arizona Cardinals before being signed by the San Francisco 49ers in November 2019.
He played in one game for the 49ers in 2019 and played in 14 games for the team in 2020, primarily on special teams.
