Rahm’s professional career kicked off when he turned professional during the 2016 U.S. Open and his first game was the following week at Quicken Loans National. He finished the game with a tie in the third position. Rahm was able to enter again to the open for the game was a qualification series.
In January 2017 Rahm had his first PGA Tour victory which was held at the Farmers Insurance Open. He scored 60 foot eagle putt on the last hole and this got him to move to the top of the rank from position 137 to 46 in the Official World Golf Ranking. In the Wells Fargo Tournament his first master tournament he finished in the fourth position and at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational finished as a joint-runner-up and this is the tournament that moved him to the top 10 of the world rankings. During the 2017 European Tour season’s at the last competition, which was held in Dubai, Rahm won the Tour and was at the first position among the rookies. This earned him the European Tour Rookie of the Year. At the Sentry Tournament of Champions held in Kapalua, Hawaii at the beginning of the year Rahm emerged second with 8 shots behind the winner Dustin Johnson.

In February 2023 Rahm retained the first position ranking when he managed to win the Genesis Invitational
