Joe Nyutu biography
Joe Nyutu is a politician, educationist, and the current senator of Muranga county. He was born and raised in his home village Githuya, Muranga county. His childhood was rough as at some point they lived in a grass-thatched house.

Joe Nyutu Education background
Information about his preschool and primary school education has not yet been availed to the public. However, he has been saying that he went to school barefoot due to his parents lacking money.
Hon. Nyutu is an alumnus of Kijabe Boys High School having attended the school between the years 1988 – 1989. He later proceeded to Moi University where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in education in 1990. He however, wanted to pursue a bachelor’s degree in law but did not make the cut.
Joe also attended Strathmore University where he studied CPA. He is a holder of a master’s degree in business administration from Kenyatta University.

Joe Nyutu Career profile
His bachelor’s degree in education from Moi University landed him to Senior Chief Koinange school where he taught Kiswahili and English. He also worked as a taxi operator at night to make ends meet. In addition, Joe also owns two schools.
Nyutu became known among the political class in 2017 when he vied for the Muranga speaker seat but lost. He attributed his loss to efforts by former governor Mwangi Wa Iria to derail him by intimidating the 52 electorates responsible for electing the speaker against him.
He was elected in the 2022 general election as the Muranga County Senator under the United Democratic Alliance party (UDA) ticket. UDA managed to sweep the majority of the elective seats in the county. Being an educationist, Joe was elected chairperson of the senate education committee with the main focus being a review of the competence-based curriculum (CBC).
