Biography of Doc Rivers
Glenn Anton famously known as “Doc River” is an American former professional basket a player and a professional basketball coach who played for a number of teams. Before becoming a coach, he played for US national team during the FIBA world championship.

Doc Rivers championships
Doc Rivers represented the United State national team during the 1982 FIBA World championship which earned him the MVP of the tournament. The following year in 1983 he was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in their second round as the 31st overall and at the starting due to an injury he got during rookie he was out for seven seasons serving as a starter.
During the 1986_1987 season he made ten assists and managed to score 12.4 points. He then joined Los Angeles Clippers as a starter for one year before he joined New York Knicks and spent two years. He closed his career with San Antonio Spurs as a solid Bench player.

Doc Rivers coach
After his playing career he decided to do coaching which he started in 1999 with the Orlando Magic. A year later he earned the year 2000 coach of the year award while with the Magics. He was with the Magic for Four years and then was selected to lead a team that was picked to finish last.
Rivers managed to post season three years ahead as the coach. In 2003, the team made a pathetic start to the season and Doc was fired. He then worked for NBA on ABC as a commentator and took over the Boston Celtics as a coach leading them to the finals against the Al Michaels. In a match against the New York Knicks in January 2008 he led the team to a 109-93 victory.
He emerged the coach of the team with the best winning percentage during the eastern conference and was honored the Coach if the East in the 2008 NBA All-star Game which was held in New Orleans. Same year in June as a head coach he won his first NBA championship.
