George Natembea Career history
Before joining the political world Natembea was a public servant who he served for over 25years where he first worked as an assistant to minister of security, the late John Michuki where he learnt a lot of leadership skills from him. He worked there for a period of four years after which he was promoted to work as the District officer in Muranga District.
His main objective was to control the gang that was terrorizing the Muranga residents named Mungiki gang. He successfully suppressed the gang. In 2016 he was appointed to serve as the Isiolo County Commissioner and later was transferred to Narok County where he was facing the conflict in the Mau water towers. This forced him to evict over 10 thousand settlers.
From a Regional Commissioner to a Governor
He then worked as Rift Valley Regional Commissioner where he served up to 2011 January when he resigned for politics. He was the first government official with high rank to submit his resignation to the president according to the election act.
During the 2022 general elections Natembea vied for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat and was elected and he is the current Governor of Trans Nzoia County. Which he said working away from his home with good track record brought a call from his people to go back and lead them.
