Kariuki attended Kianyaga High School where he did his secondary education from 1990 to 1993. He then got admission to join Egerton University where he studied Bachelor of Counseling and Psychology, and graduated in 1999.
In 2007 he joined the College of Insurance where he pursued a Certificate of Proficiency and graduated in 2008. He then did his Higher Diploma in Psychology Counseling at the Kenya Methodist University and he graduated in 2009.

Kariuki first got a job as a Ministry Coordinator at Christian Church International. He then came up with a Computer Hardware and Software of his own Computer Bazaar in 2002. Five years later he started working a Financial Advisor at BRITAM where he worked up to 2013.
He then went to work with Green Dairy Limited and from 2015 he has worked as the Director a position he is still serving to date. Kariuki also works as a Managing Director at Aberdere Spa and Safari Lodge.
Kariuki joined politics in 2017 when he was elected to represent Ndia Constituency in the National Assembly. During the Kenya’s 12th parliament Kariuki was Departmental Committee on Communications, Information and innovation vice chair.
During the 2022 general elections Kariuki vied for the position of Ndai Constituency Member of Parliament and was elected for the second time, and he is currently still serving as representative of Ndia Constituency in the National Assembly.
