Biography

Florence Bore Tapnyole is a Kenyan politician born in Kericho County. She is the Cabinet Secretary nominee for Labour and Social service appointed by president William Ruto.

Bore is the former women representative for Kericho County.

Education

Bore took her primary education at St Patrick’s primary school where she did her CPE. She later proceeded to Kipsigis Girls High School for her secondary education. Florence completed her secondary education in 1989 when she took her Kenya Advance Certificate of Education (KACE).

She later joined Kagumo Teachers College for her Diploma in Education. In 2013, Bore graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Moi University.

Career

She was employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and worked for many years as a teacher.
Bore was then appointed as the director of the Geothermal Development Company. While at the company she built her name from the services she delivered.

She later joined politics in 2017 when she contested for the seat of Kericho County women representative. She won the seat by the majority votes under the Jubilee party ticket.

Florence was also a member of the Budget Appropriation Committee. She took her stance with United Democratic Movement (UDA) and followed the president throughout his campaigns.

On September 27, 2022, she was named Cabinet Secretary nominee for Labor and Social Service protection. The seat was formerly held by Simon Chelugui.

Citizens have hopes in her to deliver owing to her good track record. She is among 10 women appointed to the cabinet by the president. Florence Bore was appointed together with Aisha Karisa Jumwa, Alice Wahome, Soipan Tuya, Peninah Malonza, Susan Nakumincha, and Rebbeca Miano among others.
