Fidel Castro Odinga Odhiambo was born in Kenya in 1973. He is the oldest son of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his wife Ida Anyango Oyoo Odinga.

Fidel was named by his father after Cuban Fidel Castro as he was fascinated by his youthhood heroism in the liberation of his country.

Fidel Castro Odinga Odhiambo Education Journey

Fidel Odinga attended Consolata primary in Westlands for his primary schooling. Later he joined Mbeji Academy in siaya for his secondary education.

Castro Odinga Odhiambo was not short of luck as the financial status of his family allowed him to attend the South Eastern University in Washington where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing.

Fidel Odinga Career

He returned to Kenya where he took up several companies. Fidel worked as a supplier of bitumen for contractor companies in Kenya. Additionally, he helped manage his family business East African Specter Limited which is mainly involved in construction work.

It was alleged that Fidel had a political interest in the 2013 election as is said to be one of the top-notch names looking forward to grabbing the Langata parliamentary seat. Apparently, his increased involvement in the Orange Democratic Movement party activities was increased.

It was also alleged that he was in preparation for the 2017 election with an elective seat in mind. Unfortunately, he would never see his ambitions through as he died on January 2015.

Fidel was married to two wives. He got married to his first wife Veronica Wanjiru Nganga in 2007. The marriage didn’t last and the couple divorced in 2011. Their divorce was covered with controversies from Fidel’s love of alcohol to Veronica not being able to bear him a child.

Fidel remarried after a year to his Eritrean wife Lwam Gatachewbekele whom he had been dating for almost two years. They had their first child in July 2013.

Fidel had three siblings, Rosemary Odinga born in 1977, Raila Odinga Jr. born in 1979, and Winnie Odinga born in 1990.

Rosemary Odinga is the second born following Fidel Odinga. She is a social equity activist, entrepreneur, and advocate for alternative agriculture.

Raila Odinga Jr. is a good businessman with holdings across the country. He is married to his wife Yvonne Kibukosya and had their wedding in 2011. He is also a father to two girls.

Winnie Odinga Fidel’s youngest sibling is a communication international area studies graduate from Drexel University, Philadelphia. She is named after Nelson Mandela’s wife Winnie Mandela.

Fidel Castrol Odinga’s Net worth

He built most of his wealth when he supplied bitumen for contractors. Fidel Odinga was a car lover and owned several of them. He would show up at social gatherings and reveal his porch lifestyle and love for alcohol.

Fidel reportedly owns Parkview, a four-star hotel in Kisumu estimated to be worth 100 million.

It is also alleged that Fidel ate with golden spoons, knives, and forks as he was not a fan of aluminum cutlery.

Fidel Odinga’s Cause of death

Fidel Castro Odinga Odhiambo died at the age of 42 leaving behind his wife and son who was at the time only a year and a few months old. He was buried at his home in Kang’oka Jaramogi, Bondo near his grandfather’s grave.

His wife found him lifeless on the bed in the morning. His autopsy was kept away from the public following the mystery of his death. Reports from different sources reveal that he might have died from food poisoning.
