Daniel Jay Cameron is an American politician and a lawyer, he is the attorney General of Kentucky, serving as the state’s first African American in the office. This is following the 2019 general elections on an independent ticket and was then endorsed by President Trump.

Cameron’s professional career began working at Tatenhove in the Eastern District of New York as a clerk of the feral District judge named Gregory F Van and served him for two years. Additionally, he served Mitch McConnell the Senate Majority leader up to 2017. During the confirmation procedure of the Conservative Federal Judges such as the confirmation of Justice Neil Gorsuch the Supreme Court judge. Later he decided to go back to Louisville to work with a law firm named Frost Brown Todd law firm as a senior associate.

About two years later he joined politics and in January 2029 vied for the position of the Attorney General for Kentucky. He managed to win and beating the state senator Wil Schroder by 55.3% of the total votes and was endorsed by President Donald Trump.

Following the November 2019 general elections, he came ahead of the former Attorney general Greg Stumbo. He was the first to vie for the office and won on an independent ticket and the second African American in Kentucky to serve the office in entire state.

His term began in January 2020 which was after the former Attorney general who resigned issued Cameron an Executive Letter of appointment. He was sworn in on March 17th 2020 and are started working in March 27th. He started by coming up with abolition of abortion and was granted to abolish all the abortion clinics in Kentucky by Kentucky legislature but the governor Andy Beshear refused to sign the law.
