His career began at an early age in high school. He made 76 receptions for 1,120 yards and 12 touchdowns. Chase later got a football scholarship to Stanford University in 2014 for his college football where he caught 31 passes for 512 yards and nine touchdowns. As a red shirt freshman he played as a back-up where he made 10 catches, for 121 yards and one touchdown.
The following year in Dallas Cowboy in his 13 games, 23 receptions for 222 yards and one touchdown. In 2017 season caught 22 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns becoming the fifth in the team after which declaring for the 2018 NFL Draft after the season for Dallas Cowboys
The return of Jason Witten to play professional football after season one ended kept Schultz as the team’s third-string tight end. In 16 games with one reception for six yards and one kickoff made a return for five yards in the play during the season.
In 2020 when Jason Witten left Dallas Cowboy, Dalton got an opportunity to compete for the backup position and took over the tight end with 60 receptions in season (63), while collecting 615 receiving yards and four touchdowns But unfortunately Cowboys lost the quarterback Dak Prescott in the fifth week in a match against the New York Giants.
By 2021 season he had accumulated accumulating 78 receptions, 808 yards and 8 touchdowns. in March 2023, Schultz signed a contract with the Houston Texans and became the third-string tight end after Jason Witten retired from Houston Texans.
