Cleophas Malala is a Kenyan theatre director and politician, he the former senator of Kakamega County. His full name is Cleophas Wakhungu Malala.

Malala is an influential director and other than politics he directed a number of theatre groups among them the Millaz Production Group in Nairobi. He has also directed many school plays like Chavakali High school, Kakamega School. He directed the famous play named Shackles of doom which was acted by Butere Girls High School and his plays are always successful reaching the Nationals. He also worked at Africa Media Institute as a lecturer.
Malala political career began in 2013 during the general election when he vied for the position of the Ward representative for Mahiakalo Ward in Kakamega County. During the next general election in 2017 Malala vied for the Kakamega Senatorial position in ANC party ticket. He won the election and served Kakamega in the senate from 2017 to 2021. In the senate Malala was the deputy Minority party leader. Malala didn’t finish his term as a senator and was ousted and replaced by Stewart Madzayo but the reason for his impeachment was unclear.
