His father who apparently died in 2020 January, was never present during his growing up. He also has one sister and several step siblings. Bernard Ndong education background
Bernard went to St. Nicholas Primary School which is in Nairobi. After he did his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), he joined Lenana School for his secondary education. Back in high school, Ndong was an active member in sports. Later on, he enrolled at the Daystar University for a degree course in Broadcast Journalism. He also went to Hekima University College for a Master’s degree as well as Alliance Francaise for a diploma in French.

As mentioned above, Bernard Ndong’s passion for sports began way back when he was at school where he was an active sports member. He participated in a couple of games including swimming, rugby and football. At Daystar University, he majorly played rugby.
He began his career as a news reporter at the Kenya Broadcast Channel (KBC) where he worked as an intern in the year 2007.
Bernard also tried several times to secure himself a job in the media platform but failed. He started with an audition at Nation Media House (NTV) but he was rejected. However, this did not deter him from getting a job at the media.
He tried his luck elsewhere and that was in KTN where he auditioned for ‘the presenter’ but unfortunately failed since he was overcome with stage fright thus messing up. He was in turn advised to try out something else by those present including Janet Mbugua who is a former anchor at Citizen Television.
After he graduated from Daystar University got an opportunity to work at Royal Media House as a salesperson. Luckily, a news anchor was needed at the same media house and he decided to try his luck which indeed worked. Mike Okinyi approached him with wonderful news that he had been shortlisted for the anchoring position.
He eventually got employed and began reporting sports news till date at Citizen Television. He also got a chance to go to Brazil in the year 2014 during World Cup.
