Aaron started his education journey at Unity primary school in Kericho county between 1992 – 2002 where he took his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (K.C.P.E). He later attended Kericho High School where he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E), between 2000 – 2004.
In 2010 he joined the Kenya Institute of Management where he got a higher diploma in Marketing.
He is a graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Language and Literary Studies from Moi University. Moreover, Hon. Cheruiyot has a master’s degree from Kenyatta University.

Apart from being a senator, Hon. Cheruiyot is also a businessman. He founded the Africana Savana Tours Safaris in 2002. This is after he left his job at the Radio Africa group where he worked in sales. He is the director at Top Image Cleaning Services and Les 63-restaurant located in Nairobi.
Political Career
His political career picked up in the senatorial by-election of March 2016. This is after Charles Keter was appointed Cabinet Secretary of Energy after the dismissal of Davis Chirchir due to corruption allegations. He rose against all odds to clinch the seat under the Jubilee party ticket.
Aaron took down seasoned politicians in the region including former transport minister Franklin Bett, ODM Executive Director Magerer Langat, former National Housing Corporation Chairman Sammy Chepkwony, and former Kipkelion MP.
He was elected in the 2022 general elections as senator of Kericho County. He is also the majority leader of the senate.

In 2009 Aaron was suspended from Moi university for commandeering a protest against the transport syndicate who were locking out others from venturing into the business in Kesses. His ambitions were however satisfied as the University was forced to open up the Moi University-Eldoret Town route lowering fare prices from KSh. 150 to KSh. 50.
Additionally, he vied for the Moi University student Organization (MUSO), chairman seat but lost to one Moses Orango.
